I forgot to put this up last week! Comp. homework!

Today was the big day. It was my first trip to Lake Superior. As we drove up, I rolled my window down. I heard boat motors roaring, and small waves lapping at the shore. There were seagulls screaming, trying to find a fish. Two small girls were splashing and shrieking in the water. I stuck my head out of the window, and a mosquito or two buzzed in my ear.
We parked by the beautiful lake, and I ran up to the shore. There were so many things around me. A few lazy adults sat in yellow and white striped beach chairs, watching the children play. A lonely canoe was docked at the edge of the water. There were sticks and leaves floating above the surface of the glassy water.
I decided to go swimming. I put on my swimsuit and goggles and jumped in. Underneath, I saw mud and rocks. A shiny silver fish darted between my feet. It tickled so much that I tripped on something sharp. It was a tin can. I picked it up and realized that there was a small crab living inside of it. I put it back down beside a strand of dull seaweed. I swam back up to the surface to catch my breath. I will never forget that wonderful day at Lake Superior.

reading your compositions is like opening up a book from the library and reading it. You are a wonderful writer and can describe your thoughts so well. Thanks for sharing them with us. I always print them off so Katie can read them as well. Love you.
